
Partnering with Cancer Rehabilitation to Optimize Patient Outcomes related to Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy and Chemo Related Fatigue

Course is designed to familiarize oncology providers and nursing staff with cancer rehabilitation to assist in achieving optimal outcomes for patients with CRF and CIPN. Participants will review signs, symptoms, and guidelines associated with CRF and CIPN, examine relevant literature; discuss assessment and referral to cancer rehabilitation; learn about rehab management and discuss strategies for implementing into oncology practice daily workflow.
Learning Objectives.
- Describe cancer rehabilitation and its impact on patients function regarding symptoms of CRF and CIPN
- Demonstrate ability to appropriately screen for and recognize when to refer a patient to rehabilitation care for CRF and CIPN
- Identity potential referral processes to ensure patient access and office efficiency
- Effectively communicate need and reason for referring patients for rehabilitation care
Target Audience
This activity is intended for oncology nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, nurse navigators, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers involved in the care of cancer patients.
