New and Emerging Immunotherapies for the Treatment of Hematologic Malignancies

February 28, 2023

- This dinner program will be a virtual (online) event. -

Overview:

Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment over the last decade, and bispecific antibodies are a
rapidly emerging class of immunotherapies in the hematological malignancy space. Bispecific T-cell engagers (BiTE) target CD3 and tumor-specific antigens simultaneously and can further advance the cytotoxicity of T-cells. This program will review the unique mechanism of action of immunotherapies with a focus on BiTEtherapies in hematologic malignancies, including multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Additionally, the faculty will discuss some common adverse effects and management strategies of bispecific antibodies, including cytokine release syndrome.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the mechanism of action of immunotherapies including BiTE therapies
  • Review current and emerging BiTE Therapies for hematologic malignancies
  • Outline common side effects associated with BiTE Therapies including cytokine release syndrome
