2026 HCME + AON Collaboration

Overview
The American Oncology Network (AON) Clinical Summit brings together physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare leaders from across the network for two days of collaboration and professional development. This annual in-person conference serves as a cornerstone event for engaging in company updates, interdisciplinary networking, and continuing education that advances high-quality cancer care. Notably, this year marks the introduction of a dedicated three-hour education block tailored specifically for advanced practice providers (APPs). The education is designed to strengthen clinical expertise and foster peer learning within this vital segment of the oncology care team. Participating APPs will enhance their knowledge of current therapeutic advances in gastrointestinal malignancies, examine evidence-based tools and resources for the assessment and management of hereditary cancer risk, and identify evidence-informed approaches to mitigating provider burnout.
Learning Objectives
- Apply evidence-based communication frameworks to deliver serious or end-of-life news, incorporating recognition of emotional cues and use of structured response techniques to address patient and family distress.
- Apply the mSMART consensus tool alongside clinical and laboratory assessments to recognize relapse patterns and guide decisions about initiating new treatment regimens in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma.
