Overview

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage common adverse events linked to immunotherapy. The session will cover guideline-recommended management strategies, including the use of steroids and immunosuppressants, to address these toxicities effectively. Additionally, the program will explore the impact of immune-related adverse events on treatment efficacy and considerations for rechallenging immunotherapy. Through case studies, participants will acquire practical insights into managing specific toxicities and appreciate the importance of early intervention and collaboration with specialists.

Target Audience

This CME initiative was designed for oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.

  1. Recognize the signs and symptoms of common immune-related toxicities associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors and other immunotherapies to facilitate timely and appropriate work-up 
  2. Discuss guideline recommended work-up and first-line management strategies for individuals experiencing immune-related toxicities
