The goal of this activity is to discuss the identification and management of common side-effects associated with chemotherapy, targeted/oral therapies, and immunotherapy. Participants will learn best practices and strategies for symptom management.

Learning Objectives.

  • Describe common side effects associated with chemotherapy, targeted/oral therapies, and immunotherapy
  • Outline the best practices and clinical pearls for managing symptoms associated with cancer therapies
  • Apply principles of symptom management to "real world" clinical scenarios

Target Audience
This activity is intended for oncology nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, nurse navigators, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers involved in the care of cancer patients.

Laura Zitella, MS, RN, ACNP-BC, AOCN has twenty years of experience caring for
patients with malignancies including undergoing stem cell transplant. She has
presented hundreds of educational presentations, co-edited a hematology textbook,
authored several chapters in oncology texts, published peer-reviewed journal articles,
and planned multiple educational events.
