Faculty
Keola Beale, MD
I love people and I love science, and medicine brings both of these together. Both my father and grandfather lost their battles with cancer during my medical training. This personal experience inspired me to focus on oncology. For me, this specialty is the perfect blend of tremendously interesting science and amazing patients. It is a privilege to be able to work in this field. Much of my training in oncology involved working on clinical trials, where patients are assigned to interventions such as drugs, surgical procedures, radiological procedures, and other treatments that are then evaluated for their effects on health outcomes. The large oncology clinical trial program available at Kaiser Permanente is one reason that I chose to work here. In my practice, I am guided by the belief that each individual and situation is unique. I try to communicate in a way that is both informative and empathic. I strive every day to provide the best care that I can and to treat every patient as I would treat my own loved one.
